Savage Gear 4D Line Thru Roach 32 cm
The Savage Gear 4D Line Thru Roach 32 cm is a large swimbait for pike anglers who want to present a substantial baitfish imitation. Its body is based on a 3D scan of a real roach. A lifelike 4D print and added scent complete the presentation.
A large lure for trolling and casting
Weighing 420 or 445 g, this Roach requires tackle designed for very heavy lures. It can be trolled behind a boat or cast using a suitable heavy-duty swimbait setup.
Planning to cast it? Check that your rod’s casting weight rating covers the complete rig weight. Your reel, line and connections must also be suitable for the load. A rod that can troll this lure is not necessarily suitable for casting it.
Which version should you choose: SS or MS?
The SS version weighs 420 g and sinks slowly. It is a logical choice when you want to present the lure higher in the water or at a slow pace.
The MS version weighs 445 g and sinks faster than the SS, making it easier to explore deeper water.
The actual fishing depth depends on factors including sinking time, retrieve or trolling speed, line length and current. SS and MS describe the sinking characteristics, rather than a fixed swimming depth.
How does the Line Thru system work?
During the fight, the lure body can slide up the leader and away from the hooks. This reduces the opportunity for a pike to use the heavy body as leverage to shake the hooks free. It can also help reduce damage to the soft plastic body.
Hengelsport 2000 tip
Watch the product video in the image gallery to see the swimming action. When trolling, also check how the lure swims beside the boat at your chosen speed before letting out more line. Adjust your speed and line length to suit the conditions.
