Complete Perch and Zander Set 198 cm 10–30 g
We have put together this lure fishing set at Hengelsport 2000 for targeting perch and zander. You receive a 13 Fishing Fate Black rod, an Okuma Azaki reel, line and accessories. We spool the reel with the braided line before delivery.
With lures, leaders, unhooking pliers and an unhooking mat included, the set brings together several important parts of your equipment. A practical choice for getting started or adding a compact predator fishing setup.
Compact 198 cm Fate Black rod
The 13 Fishing Fate Black measures 198 cm and has a casting weight of 10–30 g. Its relatively short length is manageable from a boat and along banks or quays where you can stand close to the water.
Use the set for casting softbaits or presenting them vertically beneath a boat. Match your lure and added weight to the rod’s casting rating, taking the combined weight of the softbait and rig into account.
Okuma Azaki reel, supplied pre-spooled
The Okuma Azaki AZ 20 FD features a front drag. We spool it with 0.12 mm Nihonto Octa 8 Braid Green. This braided line has little stretch, helping you maintain contact with your lure.
Before fishing, assemble the rod and reel, thread the line through the guides, and attach your leader and lure. Adjust the drag so the reel can release line when pressure increases during a fight.
Cannibal Shads with a storage box
The set includes a 10 cm Savage Gear Cannibal Shad Mix RTF with a box. RTF stands for Ready To Fish: the softbaits are pre-rigged and can be attached to your leader.
Use a steady retrieve or alternate short movements with pauses. When fishing close to the bottom, choose a pace that lets the lure sink under control while you maintain contact with the rig.
Wire leaders for waters containing pike
You receive two 25 cm Mikado Dream Leader 7x7 wire leaders with a stated breaking strain of 6 kg. These protect the connection to your lure against pike teeth, making them useful on waters where pike may take a lure intended for perch or zander.
Check the leader, snap and knots regularly, especially after catching a fish or getting snagged.
Unhooking pliers and mat included
The included stainless steel unhooking pliers help you reach the hook. The Freestyle Lite Mat 100 CLK provides a surface for placing your catch while unhooking it. Wet the mat first and keep time out of the water to a minimum.
A landing net is not included. A net with sufficient reach is a useful addition, particularly when fishing from higher quays.
A tip from Hengelsport 2000
Start at a spot where you can easily follow your presentation and allow the shad to sink to the bottom under control. Retrieve it with short movements and pauses. Maintain contact with the line during the drop, as a take can occur at this stage.
The 10–30 g casting range suits medium-light lures. For very small perch lures weighing well below 10 g, a lighter rod is a better match.
