Savage Gear 4D Line Thru Pulse Tail Roach 21 cm
The Savage Gear 4D Line Thru Pulse Tail Roach 21 cm is a large soft plastic lure with a roach profile. Its detailed shape, lifelike 4D print and added scent complete the presentation. This version weighs 150 g and sinks slowly.
Subtle Pulse Tail action
The Pulse Tail produces a pulsing tail action while the body remains relatively stable as it swims. This offers a different presentation from a swimbait with a wide, whole-body swimming movement.
The Roach can be retrieved at different speeds. Start with a steady pace, then vary it to find a presentation that suits the conditions.
Fishing the slow-sinking version
After casting, let the swimbait sink in a controlled way before starting your retrieve. Short pauses allow it to drop further between retrieves.
The actual fishing depth depends on factors including sinking time, retrieve speed, line and current. When fishing above weed or obstacles, remember that the lure sinks during a pause.
How does the Line Thru system work?
During the fight, the lure body can slide up the leader and away from the treble hook. This reduces the opportunity for a pike to use the swimbait’s weight as leverage to shake the hook free. It can also help reduce damage to the soft plastic body.
The Roach comes pre-rigged with a Carbon49 leader and a Y-Treble hook. A slot in the tail allows you to insert a suitable additional rattle.
Choosing a suitable rod
This 150 g swimbait requires a suitable heavy-duty swimbait setup. For casting, choose a rod rated for the complete lure and rig weight. Match your reel, line and connections to the load too.
Hengelsport 2000 tip
Start fishing a spot with a short sinking time. On subsequent casts, let the Roach sink a little longer to explore deeper water. This lets you change the fishing depth while keeping your retrieve speed consistent.
